Frequently Asked Questions (and Answers)

If you need any further information please send an enquiry via the enquiry form.

At what time can we access the property?

On a Saturday you can access the farmhouse from 5pm onwards.
On Sundays you can normally access the cottage a little earlier at around 4pm.

We will be here to greet you, but if you are likely to arrive very late please let us know so we can make further arrangements.

Departure on your last morning should be by 10am prompt please. We need to be able to have adequate time to get ready for following guests and we thank you in advance for your co-operation.

Do you charge for breakages?

We take a small security deposit at the time of your final payment, which is used in the event of breakages etc., although breakages of the occasional cup or glass is only to be expected and we seldom charge for such items. In the past we have only ever had to use the deposit for damage to bedding and furnishings, generally caused by wearing fake tan and taking fruit drinks, food, etc. to bed.

Can I hire bikes locally?

We have six bicycles at Chez Robineau for your use, for which there is no charge. Please note that we only have bikes for adults and youths; children's bikes will need to be brought along. We also have a limited amount of safety equipment, head protection etc. so we advise that if you require safety equipment you also bring that with you. If you need extra cycles, children's bikes or extra safety equipment etc., please contact www.bikehiredirect.com - they will even drop off and pick up bikes and equipment for you.

What payment methods do you support?

Our preferred method of payment is via Internet banking, though we will of course take a cheque in Euros provided that you allow sufficient time for postage and for the cheque to clear with the banks. But please let us know in advance.

You can also pay using a credit/debit card or with PayPal. There is a small charge for this service and you will be notified of the charge prior to completing the payment.  This is particularly useful when booking to ensure that you reserve the dates you require. Payment via PayPal or Credit Card also offers a certain amount of insurance. Please see the PayPal or Credit Card websites for more information.

When we finish our holiday how will the security deposit be refunded?

When you leave the property, we will do our best to check things over later the same day. If we already have your bank details, we will return the deposit to your account normally within 24hrs. Otherwise we will email you asking for your bank details on your return home and will make the refund as soon as we can. Obviously we will deduct any damage from the security deposit before making the payment. We should point out that in nearly 15 years of running the holiday properties we have only had reason to make a deduction on very few occasions.

Do you offer Refunds?

The Deposit made at the time of booking is non refundable. We therefore advise that you take out a separate holiday insurance to cover personal injury, loss, cancelation etc. The balance is due ten weeks before your holiday and refunds will be made according to the scale laid out in our terms and conditions

Do you accept pets?

No. We regret no pets are allowed in the Farmhouse or Cottage.

Do you have any DVDs we can hire?

We have a reasonable collection of DVDs for your use and again there is no charge to borrow those.

Do you provide bed linen and towels ?

Yes. All bed linen and towels (including pool towels) are provided for your stay. Those staying for more than a week will be provided with a clean set of bed linen on a weekly basis. All other washing and cleaning during your stay is your own responsibility.

Who is the pool shared with?

The pool is used by guests staying in the Farmhouse, Cottage and on occasion ourselves, though generally we use the pool either first thing or in the evening.

Do I pay extra for cleaning?

No, there's no charge for cleaning. However we do ask that the property is left reasonably clean and tidy, and that rubbish is not allowed to accumulate. There are communal rubbish bins in Les Coudrais about 300m away. We also ask that no rubbish be left on your departure. There is also a bottle bank in the Super-U car park in Civray.
