Circuit des Remparts at Angoulême

A look back at motor-sport history. The "Circuit des Remparts" is an annual event run around the streets of Angoulême (about 50 minutes drive to the south of Chez Robineau). The first event was held back in 1939 when motorcars were a little different from today; this year sees a celebration of the 80th anniversary of that first event.

Day one sees a Concours d’élégance starting in the evening and passing through the historic town. Day two is a chance for the owners to take part in a 200km Rallye International through the surrounding Poitou-Charentes countryside. Day three is race day, when you can experience real racing with classic cars around the ramparts of Angoulême.

All weekend you'll have the chance to get up close to these majestic cars, speak to the owners and generally take in the atmosphere, a truly great weekend.

This year's Circuit des Remparts will take place 13-15 September 2019.

Chez Robineau have the ideal gîtes for those wanting to visit France for a week away in September and the chance to take in a trip to Angoulême for the Circuit. Send an enquiry to see how we can help plan your visit.
