Chez Robineau is our home and we are delighted to offer two exceptional gites on site. Both are detached and not overlooked. They each have extensive outdoor space with barbecues and open outlooks over gardens and fields. The pool, surrounded by stone terracing, a shady pool house and tall hedging is shared and only a short stroll from both properties.  There is ample parking on site, including a large barn for shade if required. We are happy to provide access to electricity, light and secure storage should you wish to bring something a little more interesting with which to explore rural France. The pool house has some gym equipment and there are bicycles free for you to borrow if you wish to be a little more active.

All of this lies only a 30 minute walk, 10 minute bike ride or 5 minute drive from Civray with family-run boulangeries and boucheries, restaurants and bars clustered around the market held twice a week. There are also three supermarkets within a few minutes drive. Outside of Civray many of the local villages also have bars and restaurants and we'd be happy to offer advice and help with bookings.

There are plenty of footpaths, cycle rides and canoe-able rivers nearby: a local map and recommendations of routes are provided in both gîtes. If you want to travel further afield, Chez Robineau is located pretty much centrally within Poitou-Charente and in easy reach of Poitiers, Angouleme, Limoges and Niort. Bordeaux, La Rochelle and the Loire valley are all close enough for a day trip. Check us out on Google maps!

The gites have thick stone walls so stay relatively cool in summer and warm off season but we do also provide fans in every bedroom, free wood for the stoves and radiators to assist with your comfort whatever time of year you visit..

Bed linen, towels, pool towels, tea towels, etc. are all provided as standard (a detailed list of the contents of each gîte is available - links are below) and we start you off with a small welcome pack including the essentials of French life: wine, bread, milk and cheese. Indeed, we hope to provide a first-class service to all our visitors.

If you have any questions, whether that's before you book, before you arrive or while you are here, please do not hesitate to ask. Similarly, when booking a gîte, please let us know if you have any special needs - we will always do our best to accommodate
